The total logistics
market in the UAE is expected to grow at 8 per cent per annum
between 2009 and 2015 to reach about $10.06 billion in 2015,
according to a White Paper prepared by consultancy firm Frost &
Sullivan.
The country is expected to witness a remarkable surge in import
and export trade levels in the coming four-five years as
recovery from the global recession is expected to drive the
freight forwarding market as well as the overall logistics
market, the report said.

between 10 and 15 per cent without compromising consumers'
lifestyles, said Wajdi Ahmad, the technical solutions director
of Middle East smart grids for the US company General Electric.

The defence budget
of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan
combined is expected to be $68 billion (Dh249 billion) in 2011,
Frost & Sullivan, a global research and consultancy firm, said
yesterday.
"This is expected to grow to about $80 billion by 2015. It is
expected that the overall defence spending in the Middle East
will cross $100 billion by 2015. The overall spending would be
led by Saudi Arabia," the research firm said in its latest
report on the region.
